Campaign National Tour
Provided tech and content production for fundraising events at 14 unique venues across America.
In 2015 and 2016, I traveled to 14 different venues as a part of Biola University's Campaign National Tour — seeking to raise funds as part of Biola's comprehensive capital campaign.
Each venue brought unique challenges: Some were close enough to our home base to be able to drive a truck full of gear to. Others required coordinating rental gear (oftentimes sight unseen) from local vendors.
I and one other rotating crew member handled 100% of the tech (video, audio, and lighting) at each event — and sometimes also the staging and pipe & drape.
I created all of the content shown on-screen, customized to each location.
- Newport Beach, California: Newport Beach Civic Center
- Riverside, California: The Mission Inn
- San Diego, California: Natural History Museum
- Phoenix, Arizona: monOrchid Gallery
- Sacramento, California: Library Galleria
- Washington, D.C.: Whittemore House
- Manhattan, New York: Lightbox
- San Francisco, California: Presidio Officer’s Club
- Seattle, Washington: Edgewater Hotel
- Dallas, Texas: The Forum
- Portland, Oregon: Oregon Museum of Science and Industry
- Denver, Colorado: Artwork Network
- Los Angeles, California: Gensler
- Chicago, Illinois: Union League Club of Chicago
One particular highlight for me was the New York venue, which allowed me to create specialized assets to take advantage of the 360-degree projection in the event space.
In total, the events raised nearly $860,000 for Biola University.
One critical element to ensuring local support at each event was creating video content specialized for most of the locations. In advance of the events, I flew out with my team to film videos highlighting alumni at many of the locations. You can see a gallery of those here.
